Dubai snatches yet another major record for being the number one destination in the world, a title earned as Tripadvisor's Traveler's Choice Awards for 2022: The Best of the Best Destinations results are revealed.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, acknowledged the win on Jan 20 on his official Twitter page, writing, "...Our home will always be yours".
It comes as no surprise to witness the metropolis of Dubai becoming an ideal destination globally - for matters of tourism or business.
On average, Dubai sees a whopping 15 million international visitors annually, according to the emirate’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). In 2019, MasterCard's Global Cities Index declared Dubai the fourth most visited destination, welcoming 16.73 million tourists from over 233 countries around the world. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and the lockdown of borders and flights globally, the numbers naturally dropped.
With strict precautions in place, Dubai witnessed 6.02 million international visitors, a DET report announced.
